FUIFF opens with ‘The Message of the Lyrebird’

The feathery tale about how the lyrebird’s survival is linked to our humanity will open the 2023 Filmmakers United International Film Festival (FUIFF) in Birmingham, United Kingdom.

At FUIFF, you’re guaranteed to see indie projects for positive change internationally, nationally, in cultures and societies, specific groups, socially, politically, etc… with subjects involving human and animal rights, climate change, cultural issues, projects to increase the quality of life, or film and documentaries on similar topics.

The three day event, launched on Friday January 27 with the Aussie film to follow the opening ceremony, marks the first time Lyrebird has opened an international festival. We thank the judges and curators for the grande exposure and we’re thrilled to be screening in United Kingdom with worldly indie filmmakers.

The official selection of films will screen with Q&A sessions at Hexagon Theatre, Midlands Art Centre, Birmingham, which includes a line up of 7 features and 19 shorts representing Australia, Canada, Tanzania, Iran, USA, Pakistan, Denmark, Sweden and UK.

The festival wraps on Sunday with an awards ceremony and after party.
