Lyrebird in Lithuania: Finalist award at WIIFF

The Message of the Lyrebird was awarded in the top 10 films at the 8th Annual Wolves Independent International Film Festival, Utena – Lithuania.

The jury chose the top 10 finalist films, selected from 9 countries including France, Hungary, Malaysia, Finland, Portugal, Germany, Ireland, Spain and Australia.

Lyrebird competed in the Best Feature Film category, which was awarded to the film, Vincent van Gogh: 70 Days in Laois, directed by John Demetrios Karabetsos, Ireland.

Wolves Independent International Film Festival was centred in the village of Saldutiškis, outside of the industrial city of Utena, Lithuania. The three day festival, from August 26 – 28. 2016, showcased all genres of films about nature, heritage, environment, history, culture, ethnography, adventure, wildlife, indigenous cultures and social issues. The festival offered daytime as well as evening screenings, and  opened doors for young people and their families looking to watch great films.

Festival Director, Ramūnas Abukevičius congratulated the winners, finalists and semi-finalists at this year’s festival.
